Hi, I’m Ivan Klimchuk. I am a Principal Software Engineer with a passion for fintech, edtech, and e-commerce. Over the past 15+ years, I’ve transitioned from hands-on coding to leading teams, designing high-load systems, and ensuring reliability as an SRE.
Beyond my day job, I’m an avid indie maker, open-source contributor, and a dedicated gravel cyclist.

- Principal Software Engineer @ Galactica Games (Current) Driving system architecture, fintech integrations, and ensuring high availability for global gaming infrastructure.
- Engineering Manager & Team Lead Led cross-functional teams, established engineering best practices, and mentored developers using frameworks like the Growth Framework.
- Senior Software Engineer & DevSecOps Built and secured robust backend systems on Google Cloud Platform and AWS using TypeScript, NodeJS, Go, and Python.
Open Source & Community
I strongly believe in giving back to the community that helped me grow:
- MODX CMS Core Maintainer: Spent years improving and maintaining MODX, creating numerous popular e-commerce extras (mspWebPay, mspKlarna, etc.).
- TAO Project: Dedicated 8 years to improving e-assessment tools in line with modern standards.
- Tech Belarusian: Running an educational project (ikby.tech) to create technology content in the Belarusian language, contributing to our cultural digital heritage.
Life Outside Code
When I’m not in front of a screen or configuring a server, you can find me:
- Spending time with my family and raising my two children.
- Riding my gravel bike (Canyon Endurace) across beautiful nature trails and completing long-distance Randonneuring brevets.
- Automating my smart home.
